Not all local moves in Bonita Springs work the same way. A move out of a single-family home in Bonita Bay is a different job than a move from a third-floor apartment near US-41. The crew size, equipment, timeline, access requirements, and prep work all shift based on the property type. Knowing those differences before moving day helps you plan accurately and avoids surprises on the day.
Why the Property Type Changes the Move
A house gives movers direct ground-level access, a driveway close to the entrance, and no shared spaces to coordinate. An apartment adds variables: elevator reservations, hallway clearances, building rules about move-in hours, and sometimes restricted parking for large trucks.
Neither is inherently harder, but they require different planning. A crew that arrives at an apartment without checking building rules can lose hours. A crew that assumes a house has easy access without confirming there is no gated entry or narrow driveway can hit the same problem.
Access and Logistics: Where the Two Diverge
For house moves, the main logistics questions are about driveway access, distance from the truck to the front door, and whether any large furniture needs to come through a sliding door or side entry. Tight staircases and narrow hallways are the most common friction points.
Apartment moves add a layer of coordination. Many Bonita Springs apartment and condo buildings require elevator reservations for move-in and move-out days. Some restrict moves to specific hours, typically outside of morning and evening peak use. Building management may also require proof of insurance from the moving company before the move begins. We carry property, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance, and certificates of insurance are available on request.
Crew Size and Equipment
A single-family home move typically involves larger items, more total volume, and longer carry distances from interior rooms to the truck. A 3-man crew handles most home moves efficiently.
Apartment moves with elevator access often involve more trips up and down, especially when the elevator is shared with other residents. Crew size still matters, but timing and pacing become equally important. Our team adjusts the approach based on the specific property rather than applying a single default plan.
For moves involving stairs without elevator access, our crew is trained in proper stair carry techniques and will communicate any additional time this adds to the job before loading begins.
How Pricing Differs
Our standard rate is $200 per hour for a truck and a 3-man crew. That rate applies to both apartment and house moves. What varies is the time. A house move with long carry distances or multiple flights of stairs will take longer than a ground-floor apartment with elevator access. A third-floor apartment with no elevator and narrow hallways may run longer than a house of similar size.
A flat-rate quote removes that uncertainty. If you prefer a locked-in price before the move starts, we offer that option. For hourly jobs, an accurate inventory upfront and honest communication about access conditions helps keep the estimate close to the final cost.
What to Prepare Before Moving Day
Regardless of property type, the prep steps that save the most time are the same: empty all dresser drawers and cabinets, clear pathways through the home, and have boxes labeled by room and staged near the exit.
For apartment moves specifically, confirm elevator availability with building management before the move date. Reserve the freight elevator if your building has one. Check whether there are move-in or move-out fees charged by the building and whether the building requires a certificate of insurance from your mover.
For house moves, confirm that the truck can park close to the main entrance and that any gated access codes or community visitor rules are sorted out in advance. If you live in a Bonita Springs community with a gate, let us know beforehand so the crew can enter without delay.
If you need help with packing before moving day, our packing and unpacking services are available as an add-on to any move. Our team brings all materials and works systematically so everything is loaded in order.
